1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and GirlCult (“we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the GirlCult iOS app, the website at girlcult.app, and related content, support, and services (together, the “Services”).
By downloading, accessing, purchasing, or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
The iOS app is also licensed under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (“Apple Standard EULA”), which is incorporated by reference. These Terms supplement the Apple Standard EULA. If there is a conflict, the Apple Standard EULA controls for the app license and Apple-required terms, and these Terms control for other aspects of the Services to the extent permitted by law.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, you may use GirlCult only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. By using GirlCult, you represent that you meet these requirements and that your use is lawful where you live.
3. What GirlCult provides
GirlCult is a wellness, lifestyle, entertainment, and self-reflection app. Features may include moon and menstrual-cycle awareness, astrology and natal charts, tarot readings, journaling, guidance content, to-do lists, notifications, stickers, and generated interpretations.
Some features are free, some require a GirlCult+ subscription, and some may depend on compatible Apple services, an internet connection, birth or cycle information you choose to provide, or third-party service availability. Features can change as the product evolves.
4. Wellness and cycle disclaimer
GirlCult is not a medical device, health-care provider, fertility service, or contraceptive tool.
Cycle dates, fertile windows, ovulation estimates, moon-sync labels, predictions, and reflections are approximate and provided only for general wellness, awareness, and entertainment. They may be incomplete, late, wrong, or unsuitable for your circumstances.
- Do not use GirlCult to prevent or plan pregnancy.
- Do not use it to diagnose, treat, cure, monitor, or prevent a disease or condition.
- Do not delay seeking professional care because of anything in GirlCult.
- For medical, fertility, mental-health, or safety concerns, contact a qualified professional or local emergency service.
You are responsible for health and safety decisions and for independently verifying information that matters to those decisions.
5. Tarot, astrology, and guidance content
Astrology positions are calculated from astronomical data, but interpretations, horoscopes, tarot readings, affirmations, and cycle reflections may be generated and can be inaccurate, incomplete, repetitive, unexpected, or inappropriate.
Tarot, astrology, angel, goddess, oracle, spirit-animal, manifestation, and similar content is offered for entertainment and personal reflection. It is not factual prediction, supernatural verification, or professional advice. It does not determine your future and should not be treated as medical, psychological, legal, financial, relationship, employment, safety, or other professional guidance.
You remain responsible for your choices. Do not rely on generated content for high-impact decisions. If output feels distressing or unsafe, stop using the feature and seek appropriate human support. We may use automated guardrails, but no guardrail is perfect.
6. GirlCult+ subscriptions and purchases
GirlCult+ and any digital sticker or feature purchase offered in the iOS app are processed by Apple through the App Store. The app presents the plan, billing period, price, currency, introductory-offer eligibility, and included benefits before you confirm a purchase. Prices and available plans may vary by region and change over time.
Automatic renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current subscription period. Apple charges your Apple Account within 24 hours before renewal at the price shown for your plan, subject to Apple’s applicable notice and consent rules for price changes.
Trials and introductory offers
If Apple confirms that you are eligible for a free trial or introductory offer, the exact terms will appear before purchase. Unless you cancel before the trial or offer ends, it converts to the paid subscription shown at checkout. Eligibility is determined by Apple and may be limited to one offer per subscription group.
Manage, cancel, restore, and refund
- Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions or the App Store’s subscription controls.
- Deleting the app or app data does not cancel a subscription.
- Use Restore Purchases in GirlCult Settings to restore an eligible purchase associated with your Apple Account.
- Billing, refunds, and payment disputes are handled by Apple under its policies and applicable law. We cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
Paid access can require a valid App Store entitlement. If a transaction is reversed, refunded, revoked, expires, or cannot be verified after reasonable fallback checks, related paid access may end.
7. Limited license and our ownership
Subject to these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to use the Services for lawful, non-commercial, personal purposes on devices you own or control, including uses permitted through Apple Family Sharing where applicable.
GirlCult’s software, brand, logos, written materials, interface design, animations, and the protectable selection and arrangement of its visual materials are owned by us or licensed to us and protected by intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited license above, no rights are transferred to you.
You may use ordinary iOS sharing features to share your own entries or generated share cards for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not remove ownership notices, sell the artwork or content separately, create a competing dataset or model from it, or use it to train or benchmark an automated system without our written permission.
8. Your content
You retain your rights in text, questions, photos, layouts, and other content you create or provide (“Your Content”). You give us and our service providers a limited, non-exclusive license to process Your Content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the specific Services you use, as described in the Privacy Policy. This license ends when the content is deleted from systems under our control, subject to backup cycles and legal retention.
You are responsible for Your Content and must have the rights and permissions needed to use it. Do not submit content that is illegal, infringing, abusive, exploitative, or violates another person’s privacy. Avoid putting another person’s sensitive data into a request.
Generated output is provided for your personal use, subject to these Terms. Because machine-generated content may be similar across users, we cannot promise that output is unique or that exclusive rights attach to it.
9. Acceptable use
You may not, and may not help another person to:
- use the Services illegally or to harm, exploit, threaten, deceive, harass, stalk, or impersonate anyone;
- use the Services for medical diagnosis, contraception, emergency response, or another high-impact decision;
- probe, bypass, disable, or interfere with security, entitlement checks, rate limits, access controls, or service integrity;
- scrape, systematically download, reproduce, distribute, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Services or content;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive source code except to the limited extent a restriction is prohibited by law;
- upload malware or use automated requests that burden or disrupt the Services;
- misrepresent interpretive or spiritual content as professional advice, verified fact, or guaranteed prediction; or
- infringe intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
10. Apple and other third-party services
The Services rely on Apple and other companies that help us operate GirlCult. Their services can have separate terms, privacy policies, availability, and technical requirements. Your use of Apple devices and services is governed by your agreements with Apple.
Apple is not a party to these Terms, is not responsible for the GirlCult app or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for GirlCult. To the extent required by Apple, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce the Apple-required provisions against you.
Third-party links are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content or practices.
11. Availability, changes, and updates
We aim to keep GirlCult warm and dependable, but we do not promise uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability. Features may be unavailable because of maintenance, internet conditions, device limits, provider outages, rate limits, legal requirements, or events outside our control. Offline fallback content may differ from generated content.
We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features; adjust free or paid limits; update content; or require an app update. If a change materially reduces a prepaid subscription, remedies required by applicable law remain available.
12. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. You can delete app data using GirlCult Settings and remove the app. You must separately cancel any subscription through Apple.
We may restrict or terminate access if you materially or repeatedly violate these Terms, create security or legal risk, misuse paid access, or if required by law. Where reasonable and legally required, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy. Sections intended by their nature to survive termination, including ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute provisions, will survive.
13. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, quiet enjoyment, non-infringement, or that the Services will be secure, uninterrupted, or error-free.
We do not warrant any cycle prediction, fertility estimate, astronomical interpretation, generated output, tarot reading, guidance message, notification timing, data sync, or third-party service. You use and rely on the Services at your own discretion and risk.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GirlCult and its contributors, affiliates, and providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data, or other intangible losses, arising from or related to the Services.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for GirlCult during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or (b) USD $50.
These limits do not apply where prohibited, including liability that cannot be limited for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or mandatory consumer protections. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
15. Governing law and disputes
Before filing a formal claim, please email support@girlcult.app with a description of the issue and requested resolution. We will try in good faith to resolve it informally.
The Apple Standard EULA’s governing-law and forum provisions apply to the iOS app license. For other disputes, applicable law and courts will be determined under mandatory conflict-of-law and consumer-protection rules. If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, or Iceland, these Terms do not deprive you of mandatory protections or the courts available in your usual country of residence.
16. General terms
We may update these Terms as the Services or law changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice for material changes when required. Continued use after updated Terms take effect means you accept them; if you do not accept them, stop using the Services.
You may not assign these Terms without our consent. We may assign them as part of a merger, reorganization, financing, sale, or transfer of the Services. If any provision is unenforceable, it will be narrowed or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the rest remains effective. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the Apple Standard EULA, and any purchase terms shown at checkout form the entire agreement about the Services.
